Swiss Statistical Cooperation

On 1 January 2007, the Swiss/EU Statistical Agreement came into force, ensuring the production and dissemination of coherent and comparable statistical information for describing and monitoring all economic, social, and environmental policies relevant to bilateral cooperation.

In addition, the Agreement entitles Switzerland to be a full member of the European Statistical System, just like the EEA EFTA States. Therefore, Swiss statistics are not only becoming more comparable with EU statistics, but also with EEA EFTA statistics.
